Long storage planning process begins with a hydrological analysis to obtain the value of flood discharge based on rainfall data, land use data, and existing drainage schemes. The value of flood discharge is used to form a flood hydrograph. Next, modeling process will be carried out using HEC-HMS software to obtain the dimensions of long storage and spillway. Modeling is done to ensure long storage is able to reduce flood discharge, delay the time to peak discharge, and contain the water to prevent overflow and the flooding of surrounding area. text |
