The nyamplung oil and coconut oil purification machines for biodiesel are designed by chemical purification in batches equipped with DC dimmers to regulate the 12 watt stirrer motor speed and Proportional Integral Derivative to regulate 350 watt coil heating temperatures. The purification tank is arranged vertically, so it does not require a centrifugal pump to drain oil from one tank to another. The design and production of it is carried out at the ITB Renewable Energy Laboratory and ITB Production Laboratory. Purification of nyamplung oil was carried out by the esterification-transesterification (E-T) method for nyamplung oil and coconut oil purification was carried out by the transesterication method (T). The degumming process uses phosphorus acid 1% (v/v), esterification using methanol 20% (v/v) and sulfuric acid 2% (v/v) at 60oC. Transesterification in nyamplung oil uses methanol 20% (v/v) with variations in the mass concentration of KOH catalysts 1,15%, 1,25% and 1,35% (w/w) at 60 oC. Transesterification process in nyamplung oil with catalyst mass of 1,25% produces biodiesel yield of 73,2%, density value at 40oC is 886 kg/m3, kinematic viscosity value is 3,68 mm2/s (cSt) and acid number value is 1,698 (mg KOH/g) Transesterification of coconut oil uses methanol 25% (v/v) with variations in the mass concentration of KOH catalysts 0,8%, 0,85% and 0,9% (w/w) at 60 oC. The transesterification process of coconut oil with a catalyst mass of 0,8% produces a biodiesel yield of 91%, the value of density at 40oC is 862 kg/m3, kinematic viscosity value is 5,55 mm2/s (cSt), acid value is 0,14 (mg-KOH/g). The physicochemical characteristics of coconut oil after purification including acid numbers, density and density have met SNI 7182-2015, as well as density, and viscosity of nyamplung oil has fulfilled SNI 7182-2015.
