Description
Summary:A production planning will give maximum value if it’s supported with sufficient information flow including actual and real time operation information from shop floor in an assembly industry. However, current information flow from shop floor is paper based without proper archiving and can’t be well managed to be considered to create a production planning forecast. With implementation of technology from Industry 4.0 concept, the information flow will be transformed into virtual system to make it easily distributed in real time. The virtual system will use Lean Production System principle for making production planning forecast in order to optimize added value activity to reduce waste. Shortly, focus of this research is to develop virtual system to easily distribute information flow in real time in an assembly industry by implementing Integration of industry 4.0 with Lean Production System. The research methodoly begins with study and literature review of the virtual system model design by utilizing technological advances of Industry 4.0 concept and making production planning forecast with Lean Production System principle. Then a survey is carried out on a chosen manufacturing factory as a pilot project to get the initial data to run the system. After that the model is manifested into physical device that is installed at the factory and be simulated. The simulation results are processed data that can be analyzed to get benefit from the implementation of the virtual system. The simulation stage of this research produces production acitivity data in real time such as actual operating time, operator in charge, raw material requirements, and finishing progress of a product. Then, the actual data will be compared with production planning schedule. The data difference will give input to reschedule the production planning forecast in order to reduce waste and increase work effectivity.
