Description
Summary:The increase in population results in an increase in energy demand, especially electricity. Indonesia is a country with considerable solar irradiation potential, especially in South Central Timor regency, East Nusa Tenggara which has a high level of solar irradiation that can be above 5 kWh/m2/day. Solar-based thermal power plants (PLTS) with storage can be implemented in this area. The generation system without storage, with indirect two tank storage, and direct two tank storage were analyzed with EBSILON Professional software using 2 types of heat transfer fluid (HTF) namely Therminol VP-1 and HITEC, and varying the area of the solar collector (SM). The greater the SM, the longer the duration of storage and the greater the electrical energy produced. HITEC is more optimal for use in direct two tank systems while Therminol VP-1 is more optimal for use in indirect two tank systems. The two tank indirect system is superior when operated in the charging condition is while the two tank direct system is superior when operated in the discharging condition. The most superior generation system is the Direct Two Tank System with HITEC as HTF.
