One of the abilities that can be trained is the ability of computational thinking, which is applying the mindset of solving problems algorithmically, like how it was done on a computer. One way to hone this skill is to practice programming. There are already tools that can be used to practice programming. But, based on the results of research, there is room to develop features that provide more enjoyable and pleasurable experience so that users can be more motivated. To increase this level of pleasure, the concept of gamification is applied. Gamification is a concept that applies elements of a game in a non-game context (such as experience points). This project focuses on making the interaction design of programming practice tool with gamification by using user-centered design methodology. The result of this project is a high-fidelity prototype of the design. Testing is done to measure the achievement of usability goals and user experience goals. The results obtained from the analysis of the questionnaire given to participants after testing, in the form of SUS (System Usability Scale), likert scale, and post-test questions. text |
