Summary:In modern times, the development of online stores is developing rapidly as technology becomes more sophisticated. Picking up / shipping goods from logistic factories becomes a problem because demand continues to increase over time. PT Lazada Express, as a logistics service provider, picks up goods at the seller's shop every day. Every driver has a route that must be traveled. In June 2019, the management was realized that there were shipping problems that cause many drivers to work more than 9 hours per day. The management also realized that there was an imbalance in working hours for each driver. Also, the utilization of the vehicle capacity only fluctuates in the range of 50-70%. This problem is also known as Vehicle Routing Problem. To solve the existing problems, some constraints will be established so that the model developed represents the main problem. Additional restrictions are the type of vehicle and the maximum time traveled by each vehicle. To solve the problems, two algorithms will be used. There are the sequential insertion construction algorithm and the simulated annealing algorithm as an improvement algorithm. Based on the results compared to the actual data on 18th July 2019, the new route obtained 5% saving of shipping cost with 0,240 seconds required as a computation time.
