PT DI cannot reach the demand level for CN-295 because current production level is 3 units per year or cycle time is 4 months. PT DI not able to meet CN-295 demand because PT DI hasn’t used any operator assignment methods that can provide detailed allocation of operations for each operator. Operator assignment is done based on supervisor’s intuition. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the method of operator assignments that minimize cycle time.
The mixed integer linear programming model is used as a model for operator assignments in the CN-295 assembly line. The objective function of this model is to minimize assembly cycle time with constraints of skills of operator, precedence constraint, and assembly process. Output of this model is operations assignment to the operator and operations schedule. Computation is done using IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio 12.9.0. Computational results show that there is no change in the number of operators needed across the assembly line. Cycle time of operator assignment method meet desired cycle time of 3 months. |
