Indonesia Theses renewable energy, hybrid off-grid system, modeling, cycle charging, MATLAB/Simulink, Homer Pro, techno economic analysis INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/50586 Solar energy is one of the types of environmentally friendly renewable energy that has the potential on earth to produce electricity, especially for Indonesia. Tomor Village in Asmat, Papua is a village that has not been electrified, but has considerable solar energy potential with average irradiation of 4.65 kWh/ m²/ year. The number of households in Tomor Village that must be electrified is 87 households with communal type load 34.8 kWh/day and an administrative type load consisting of weekday load 11,376 kWh and weekend load 9.3 kWh. Geographical location and locally potential energy are main considerations for implementing hybrid off-grid system in Tomor Village. Therefore, in this paper a hybrid off-grid system was developed using cycle charging dispatch strategy. The system consists of PV module, boost converter, Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) with Preturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm, inverter, buck-boost converter, battery and generator. The proposed system was modeled based on MATLAB/ Simulink and Homer Pro. Technical modeling will be applied in MATLAB / Simulink to predict real time and dynamic, while HOMER Pro was used used to support economic analysis. The results of proposed techno-economic analysis were obtained to design a reliable and economical hybrid off-grid system for Tomor Village. text |

Solar energy is one of the types of environmentally friendly renewable energy that has
the potential on earth to produce electricity, especially for Indonesia. Tomor Village
in Asmat, Papua is a village that has not been electrified, but has considerable solar
energy potential with average irradiation of 4.65 kWh/ m²/ year. The number of
households in Tomor Village that must be electrified is 87 households with communal
type load 34.8 kWh/day and an administrative type load consisting of weekday load
11,376 kWh and weekend load 9.3 kWh. Geographical location and locally potential
energy are main considerations for implementing hybrid off-grid system in Tomor
Village.
Therefore, in this paper a hybrid off-grid system was developed using cycle
charging dispatch strategy. The system consists of PV module, boost converter,
Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) with Preturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm,
inverter, buck-boost converter, battery and generator. The proposed system was
modeled based on MATLAB/ Simulink and Homer Pro.
Technical modeling will be applied in MATLAB / Simulink to predict real time and
dynamic, while HOMER Pro was used used to support economic analysis. The results
of proposed techno-economic analysis were obtained to design a reliable and
economical hybrid off-grid system for Tomor Village. |
