In the case of autonomous vehicle and advanced driver assistance system technologies, the environmental perception has a crucial part in giving said information to the overall system. As the most common problem in parking is the lack of environment knowledge of the driver, a vision-based parking assist system can help minimizing accident while parking. In this paper, a bird-eye surround view generator and a parking maneuver recommender for reverse-bay parking are proposed to be used for a vision-based parking assist system. A bird-eye surround view generator gives an intuitive perspective of the vehicle position relative to the surrounding environment. The parking maneuver recommender provides drivers with a rule-based-generated recommendation of steering wheel orientation and vehicle movement. Based on experimental results, the two systems show satisfactory results with regards to the objective of the overall vision-based parking assist system. text |
