Description
Summary:Nowadays, there are many studies of biomechanical motion analysis of badminton players so players and coaches could improve badminton player's performance. FTMD ITB Biomechanics Research Team has been developed an optical motion capture system that could be used for gait analysis using four cameras. However, this system couldn't be used for upper limb motion analysis, especially smash motion. In this study, a motion analysis system that could capture and analyze the smash swing motion was developed by using three action cameras. Development of the smash swing motion analysis system includes modification of the current motion analysis digital image processing system which belongs to ITB Biomechanics Laboratory Research Team that already exists in the MATLAB software and testing configuration, such as marker location and the type of marker used. The purpose of this motion analysis system is to obtain an angular kinematic parameter, which is joint angle so it could be used to analyze smash motion. According to the result, the angle formed by the joint resembles its reference, which is the angle formed by markers. The system that was developed is already can be used for analysing smash swing motion. However, some development is needed because there are some difference in the result.
