The developments of double track are needed to raise the capacity of transportation. To enhance the service of train, it is needed to develop partial double track between Cikampek - Padalarang. <br /> <br /> The development of new track needs bridges to connect track, which is separated by river or valley. One of them is BH 372, which is located on km. 114+526. The distance between new bridge and existing bridge (center to center) is about 8 m. Under construction, this situation is dangerous for existing bridge since it can cause sliding and soil instability. <br /> <br /> To get a good foundation design, it is required to conduct field survey, determination of soil stratification and engineering properties of soil both from field and laboratory test. Location of new bridge is determined based on topography and location of existing bridge. Type of foundation, determination of length and diameter of pile is predicted by soil borings. <br /> <br /> Construction of foundation for BH. 372 using bored pile conducted by manual because the soil consist of boulders and there is difficulty of heavy equipment to reach the locations. Pile cap is placed on ground surface to avoid excessive of dig up and it can influence the stability of existing bridge. Pile foundation have depth -12 m from ground surface and diameter 1,5 m both abutment and pier. Each pile group has 4 bored piles foundation for both abutment and pier. text
