The research objective is to formulate the concept of the sustainability of the implementation of traditional transportation as support for urban tourism that contributes to the theoretical and practical development of existing policies. The assessment of sustainability is not only of relevance to social, economic and environmental aspects but also requires an understanding of the potential of resource values and meeting needs. Understanding the potential of the resource value crucial for the sustainability factor traditional transport. The approach to assessing sustainability factors uses the Analytic Network Process (ANP). The combined assessment of the elements from the expert used to determine the priority of sustainability factors. The results of the study have provided an understanding that the potential value of traditional transportation resources as heritage tourism is an important factor in sustainability besides meeting the needs for safety and security, route development, regulation and institutions, funding and political support. These factors influence each other and in particular affect the development of the route on infrastructure and modal criteria. The three modal sub-criteria in the assessment not prioritized because they influenced by the value of resources and safety and security. Whereas the infrastructure assessment criteria prioritized on funding criteria, namely investment in the provision of special parking and the provision of special lanes in cultural and artistic corridors that will increase accessibility to route development. However, these factors must be supported by regulations and institutions and political support to realize the sustainability of traditional transportation in supporting tourism. text
