Description
Summary:Nowadays, creative economy is considered as the main driver in regional development. In Indonesia, creative economy currently has become a new focus for economic development because of the decline in geothermal commodities exports. The development of creative industries in Indonesia is mostly developed informally in the form of home industries which are found in urban villages. The Indonesian government seeks to formalize informality of the creative industry by intervening through policies and creative economy programs at the national, provincial, and district/city levels which are expected to stimulate economic growth and contribute to achieving sustainable development. Therefore, this research will examine what creative economy policies and programs are implemented, especially in the case study of Binongjati Knitting Industrial Center. Furthermore, dimensions and indicators that affect the creative industry business sustainability are determined in accordance with the concept of shared-value creation, which will be used to measure the impact of creative economy policies implementation at Binongjati Knitting Industrial Center. This study is a qualitative research that uses within-case exploring and describing analysis method. The results of the study explained that there were 11 creative economy policies and programs implemented at Binongjati Knitting Industrial Center and just had an impact on the economic and social dimensions. Thus, the creative economic development carried out by the government at Binongjati Knitting Industrial Center has not been able to contribute to achieving sustainable development in a broader constellation.
