Therefore, a solution is needed in Jakarta flood control efforts. As a flood control effort, JICA in 1997 planned the construction of a floodway from the Ciliwung river to the Cisadane river in the form of a tunnel with a total floodway length of 1,100 m and the capacity of this floodway has a capacity discharge of 600 m3/s (two channels). In the 1997 JICA plan to diverted the flow into the tunnel using a fixed weir that could not regulate the height of the water level upstream or output downstream. So, it is designed Barrage to replace the fix weir as an divertion building so that the output discharge to the downstream can be controlled and it is less than Siaga I Katulampa (< Siaga I= 441 m3/s) of Katulampa so that the risk of flooding in DKI Jakarta can be reduced. The planned flood discharge is 790 m3/s and will be diverted into a tunnel of 300 m3/s (1 tunnel closed) so that the discharge of 490 m3/s will be withheld by Bendung Gerak. Bendung planning this motion is in the upstream of the Ciliwung watershed, Ciawi District, Sukasari Village, Bogor City with the budget for the construction of Bendung Gerak Sukasari amounting to Rp. 32,607,246,613.55 and for the total budget of the Ciliwung Floodway work project to Rp. 1,741,300,440,000. text
