Kampung Adat Cireundeu is one of many communities in West Java that use alternative crop as a staple food. The village still have active traditional community that have indigenous knowledge in form of practicing unique food consumption compared to most West Java’s citizen using processed cassava (cassava rice) as staple food. This wisdom having a potential for creating sustainable food management model for rural area. This potential should be measured with sustainability analysis. This research is analyzed using Life Cycle Assessment, economic analysis and sustainability analysis with data collected from interview and questionnaire of local community. LCA results shows the usage of 9352.98 liter of water; 2 liter of diesel fuel; 40,69 kg of manure and 2.17 kg of urea for processing 1558,83 kg cassava into 3111,76 kg cassava rice. This process produced greenhouse gasses (2,37 kg CO¬2-eq; 1,92x10-5 kg CH4- eq; and 9,61x10-5 kg N2O-eq) and acidification (1,53x10-4 kg SO2-eq; 2,46 kg NO2-eq; 1,86 kg NH3-eq). Food consumption analysis based on the interview showed the average expense of Cireundeu’s native (Rp. 547.666,67) is lower compared to urban area in West Java (Rp. 659.259,85) but higher when compared to village area in West Java (Rp. 533.857,43). Rapid appraisal method with multidimensional scaling (MDS) analysis showed the average sustainability index is 56,1 (sufficient). This result showed that Kampung Adat Cireundeu’s indigenous knowledge practiced by traditional community having potential as a food management model in rural area with less fertile agricultural land. This management could potentially suppress the usage of natural resource and decrease spending in food needs. For the application of management model based on this local wisdom, involved stakeholder should maintain few components regarding the attribute of each sustainability evaluation dimension. For example, the attributes that should be reviewed are land usage shift that affect water availability and the type of commodity cultivated. text
