Summary: | As one of the most popular means of transportation in Indonesia, motorcycle population has always increased every year. However, this has been accompanied by an increase in motorcycle theft cases in Indonesia. Data from BPS also reveals that in 2018, the number of motorbike thefts reached 27,731 times. Most cases of motorcycle theft in Indonesia are carried out by breaking into ignition key, using woodworking tools or even chemical liquids. Various existing motorcycle security devices still cannot solve this problem because the safety devices are still breakable and they are not practical to use. This study aims to overcome this problem which are focused on automatic motorbikes because their population almost hit 80% of the motorcycle market in Indonesia. The proposed solution is a smartphone-based motorcycle security device that can prevent the engine from being started by just anyone. The way to prevent the engine from starting is to control the power supply to the ignition coil. Meanwhile, the way to identify whether the person who is trying to run a motorcycle is the owner, namely using a password and smartphone identity. This article will specifically discuss the design and implementation of the instrumentation system of these safety devices. The instrumentation system in this tool consists of a immobilizer module, a bypass detector, and a warning module. The immobilizer module serves to prevent motorbikes from being ignited by random people with relays that regulate the power supply to the ignition components of the motorcycle. The bypass detector module functions to detect attempts to break into the product by reading the current through the product and the current from the contact to the ignition of the motorcycle. Meanwhile, the warning module functions to provide a warning when there is an attempt to break into the product using a 80 dB buzzer. The results of tests carried out after the instrumentation system has been implemented |
