Both have become discussion materials due to their designs which considered to be different from most of mosques in Indonesia. Al Safar Mosque has been nominated in Abdullatif Al Fozan Award, which shows mosque designs around the world. Whereas Jami’e Darussalam Mosque has been considered to be a solution for limitedness of a comfortable space for pray in its environtment. This research’s purposes are to identify the architecture-interior typology and user’s perception of space in Al Safar and Jami’e Darussalam Mosque. The methodology used in this research is qualitative with comparative study. Informations about Urbane and both mosques have been gathered using biography method and have been confirmed through interview with Urbane. Observation has been done to identify the architecture-interior elements in Al Safar and Jami’e Darussalam Mosque. Historical method has been done to explain mosque typology in the world, especially in Indonesia. The sources of mosque typology theories are from Martin Frishman, Syaom Barliana, Fauzia Latifa and Yulianto Sumalyo. Whereas the sources of perception of space theories are from Fauzia Latifa and Bert Bielefeld. Comparative study has been done to compare architecture-interior elements in both mosques with mosque typology in the world and in Indonesia with typo-morfology method. An interview to the user have been done to understand the perception of space. Although Al Safar and Jami’e Darussalam Mosque’s designs have been considered as new and different by public, yet their designs is actually still fulfil the requirements of mosque building based on Qur’an and Hadith. The typologies of both mosques is also can not be qualified as new, because they have been used in several mosques in the world and Indonesia. In the entrance and the prayer room, the typologies are monumentalism and contemporer modernism. These typologies affecting the perceptions of space which are comfortable, amazed, khusyuk, solemn and formal. Whereas in supporting rooms such as toilets, the typology is functionalism. This typology is also affecting perceptions of space which are comfortable and formal. text
