Some traditional houses tend to have advantages in terms of structural strength. The traditional houses use a stone pedestal as a foundation, where the wooden column is only placed on the stone pedestal without using a special connection. When the Nias earthquake in 2005 with a magnitude of 8.7 SR, Omo Hada's house proved to have no structural collapse. At this time, a theory has developed which states that base isolation is an elastic way to protect building structures caused by earthquake forces. Columns in Indonesia traditional houses that rest on stone pedestals have a behavior similar to base isolation with the type of Friction Pendulum System (FPS). In this research, a numerical study will be carried out on the behavior of a simple traditional house which will be modeled as a reinforced concrete portal with a stone pedestal foundation when under cyclic loads based on ACI 374.1-05. The behavior of the numerical model will be specifically observed in the hysteretic curve between force and displacement. Furthermore, analysis of the performance level and structural conditions during the application of the stone pedestal as a foundation using Pushover Analysis and Nonlinear Time History Analysis (NLTHA) methods will be compared. text |
