Banopolis is one of the companies that work on ride-sharing industry. This company provides a service that’s based on urban planning, industrial design, and engineering product in a form of IoT board that’s attached to the bike and its bike-sharing station. The problem that this company is facing now is, the company has been experiencing many organizational structure changes that lead to a confusing state of their own line of communication and other problems such as their marketing side that has been trying to garner more new clients and fraud case that has costed the company for hundreds of millions of rupiah. From those problems, it’s concluded that the company needs a new organizational structure that’s effective to execute the company’s corporate strategy to reach the company’s goals. This research uses strategy design-based organizational design approach with the reason that since the core of the business is still held majorly by the CEO of the company, hence the formulating of the corporate strategy will be done from the top-tier management. To support that approach, this research uses a strategic management approach in which this approach uses, at first, analyzing of the company’s vision, mission, and goals, then analyzing the aspect of its macro environment and business environment, in which output will serve as the insights for the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of this company with the help SWOT matrix. The SWOT matrix is weighted with each points and it creates IFE and EFE matrix. From the same SWOT matrix, a new matrix is formed called “TOWS matrix” where it is decided how many strategies that can be used from the combinations of S-O, S-T, W-O, and W-T. From every strategies found from that matrix, it’s categorized into multiple strategy categories which are internal-focused, external-focused, and product development-focused. By using QSPM method, it’s decided that the corporate strategy that needs to be executed is the strategy that’s focused on both internal and external matters. From that corporate strategy decision, a proposed organizational structure is made to support that new corporate strategy. It is decided that there’ll be two new divisions which are internal matters and external matters, and also another new position which is “project leader” as part of a new plan from the CEO of the company itself.. For the organogram that acts as the visual representation of the organizational structure, it uses a functional organizational structure for the most part of the organogram, and a team-based organizational structure for the position that’s below internal matters, external matters, and project leader division. After the organogram has been made, then a main duties and function table to be made that consists of information such as the function of each position according to the proposed organizational structure. text |
