| Summary: | Bauxite mining operation is a kind of operation that have high risk in technical and economic aspect. PT ABC is planning to develop a new pit in the mine permit area of 790 hectar and has bauxite resources of 7,954,009.539 tons and bauxite reserves of 5,339,844.53 tons. For this development, PT ABC will produce 1,1 million tons of bauxite per year with cut off grade of Al2O3 minimum 40% and cut off grade of RSiO2 maximum 5.8%. This study is purposed to determine the mining feasibility of PT ABC and to know the effect of changes in total production on the company's economic analysis.
Bauxite mining project conducted by PT ABC is economically feasible to run. PT ABC has NPV of $ 30,572,958.76, IRR of 37,25% and payback period has been achieved in the third year. The project of PT ABC has NPV equal to zero when total production of bauxite decreases to ± 730,000 tons per year and has IRR equal to zero when total production of bauxite decreases to ± 632,000 tons per year. |
