Description
Summary:Imbalance global oil supply and demand since 2014 caused prolonged low oil price. The situation pushes energy company to manage their investment efficiently and emphasize on optimizing existing asset production. PT. CTI as one of the biggest energy company in Indonesia adopt this strategy and execute more low-cost but high success rate job such as pump upsizing job. It led to fluid production rate in Bantar GS, one of PT. CTI facility, increase higher than its processing capacity. As consequence, several producer wells must be shut-in and creating production loss. The tendency of increasing production losses trigger side impact of holding back well intervention by PT. CTI management due to concern over production losses piling up. This research aims to answer the problem of high production loss due to the facility constrain in Bantar GS that holding back execution of well intervention opportunities in feeder fields. This research will identify the problem root cause and develop course of action to resolve the problem. Decision making model are adopted as the framework. Group of experts from different function were gathered to conduct brainstorming session. Five-why and Value Focused Thinking (VFT) method were used as guidance to identify the root cause and possible solution alternatives. Limitation of Bantar GS water injection pump original design was identified as the main root cause of the problem. Three feasible alternatives were identified. Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method was used to determine the best possible solution alternative based on the three key objectives: maximize NPV, maximize WIP reliability and minimize SSI risk. Relocating idle WIP from other GS and install in Bantar GS is determined as the best alternative due to its superiority in NPV and high score in WIP reliability compared to other alternatives. The solution alternative might provide NPV ~$ 170,000 for PT. CTI until end of concession period.
