Summary:<b></i>Abstract : </b><i><p align=\"justify\"> <br /> PT PJB is a Power Generation Company, providing electric power for Java Bali Network System is their core business. Unit Pembangkit Muara Karang (UPMKR) is an organization unit of PT PJB, that managed some entities of power plant unit, that is Combine Cycle Power Plant and Steam Turbine Generator Plant located in Muara Karang and Muara Tawar. <br /> <p align=\"justify\">Power plant operators is work groups organized to operate power plant reliably and efficiently all the time (24 hours/ day), hence firm objective to provide electric power reliably and efficiently is directly rely on operator organization effectiveness. <br /> <p align=\"justify\">PT PJB\'s management attempted to restructured their many aspects of organization and business process since 1997. One of the aspects to be restructured was organization structure by separating Operation function and Maintenance function. The consequence of the restructuring is major maintenance activity held by Maintenance Business Unit then operation and minor maintenance activity manage by Power Plant Unit Organization and held by operator group organization. <br /> <p align=\"justify\">Case of UPMKR Organization, in recently years after restructuring organization the UPMKR\'s performance tend to declined, UPMKR\'s operator as a components of UPMKR organization should have any contribution to performance declining. This paper dedicated to look up current roles of the UPMKR\'s operator organizations and what they can do to improve UPMKR performances. <br /> <p align=\"justify\">According to the result of study found that UPMKR\'s operator effectiveness in Group level is fair good but in organization level or inter group effectiveness is poor. Observation of previous organization structure and process concluded that operator group used to be independent work groups. <br /> <p align=\"justify\">Independence of operator groups became a barrier when Operator Organization will be change by empowerment or by job enlargement and enrichment, since it\'s mean require a better coordination among the operator work groups. <br /> <p align=\"justify\">As a proposal to solve the problem of UPMKR\'s Operator Organization, To improve the coordination system among the operator groups, proposed to forming a coordination team and considering all of implications of forming the coordination team.
