Summary: | Compensation system is a set of mechanisms which manage compensation based
on structure and scale, and also administration system. The compensation system
must be properly designed so that it aligns with the purpose of the system itself: fair,
efficient, regulations and ethics-based. PT Dealpro Indonesia is an Event
Organizer company (along with supporting businesses) which is based in Bandung.
There was an indication of lack of motivation in PT Dealpro’s employer. After a
preliminary study was conducted, it is found that the employer’s performances
didn’t show any improvements because compensation system has not been
standardized.
Consequently, the compensation system needed to be redesigned with 3P principles
(Pay for person, pay for position, and pay for performance). For the Pay for Person
principle, a matrix is formed to take some factors into considerations: group
positions, years of service, and level of education. For the Pay for Position part,
position evaluation was conducted with a hay chart with salary survey to achieve
internal and external equities. For the Pay for Performance, a profit sharing
scheme was managed with individual scoring in order to take every employer’s
contributions into account. Moreover, other elements had been taken into account
such as health and employment insurance, income tax, holiday allowances, food
and transportation allowance, as well as overtime pay.
The result of the compensation system design fulfills all the objectives of the system
itself. The required budget needed is Rp1,459,511,312.00. The budget can be
achieved by the company.
