Summary: | The need ofelectrical energy is growing all the time. Technology in the world of energy conversion still continues to evolve. Researchers continue to develop energy conversion technologies to obtain high efficiency and to overcome various limitations that exist. Geothermal energy is one of several solutionas a new and renewable clean energy. Development and utilizationof geothermal energy is still small, especially in Indonesia as one of the countries with the largest geothermal potential in the world. Atadei itself is one of the areas in NTT that has the potential for geothermal energy but has not yet felt electricity. Currently, technology in the conversion of geothermal energy also varies widely. organic rankine cycle is a technology that can overcome the problem of low temperature geothermal fluids. In this study, various designs of power plants with organic rankine cycle technology were modeled with r245fa as working fluid using EBSILON Professional software, namely the basic ORC design and with addition of combination of preheater, superheater, and recuperator. The system model will be compared in technical and economic aspects. The results show that the utilization of the superheater, the preheater isthe most optimumsystemwith a maximum output power of 2421,683 kW and an efficiency of 13,638% and is able to power all household loads in Atadei sub-district. Economically, this system also has an attractive IRR and payback period, and the highest NPV. The cost of generating electricity in WKP Atadei, NTT is determined by the LCOE method which results in an electricity cost of IDR 821.27 / kWh. |
