This research aims are to develop analysis of geomorphological methods in geothermal exploration that people generally do not do in detail, so that through this research geomorphological methods can be a powerful, useful and comprehensive method. The area used in this study is in Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu Province, located on the mountainous plateau of Bukit Barisan. This area has a relief of land dominated by hilly areas with a fairly sharp and steep slope of land (above 20°), especially in the area that is in the mountainous path of Bukit Barisan. Mount Kaba is the focus area of this research, is an active volcano that has morphology in the form of craters and cones of volcanoes. Mount Kaba is also located along the Great Fault of Sumatra. The method used in the geomorphological study of Kepahiang area is the analysis of topographic maps used for the classification of density and contour patterns, as well as to decimate features that are common in geothermal areas such as faults, cones of volcanoes, and craters. Other analyses used in this study are slope analysis using Slope Map, analysis of river flow type using RBI Map of River Flow and then delincation of features needed in geothermal exploration, then analysis of geomorphological unit division of research area using Geomorphological Unit Map of Kepahiang Area. The results of the maps are then integrated so that the area is obtained by deliniation of important features of faults, craters, lithological contacts, and cones of Volcanoes that can be parasiter volcano cones. The results were then implied to a hydrothermal volcanic geothermal system by validation by data and analysis of geological, geochemical and geophysical methods that have been conducted by the Geological Agency in 2010-2013, and using the results of the Vulcanostratigraphic Study has been conducted by researchers as additional analysis related to a geothermal system. The final result of this study in the form of a catalog of geomorphological characteristics of the Kepahiang area which is a Hydrothermal Volcanic Geothermal System, is expected to be a reference and useful for the development of geomorphological methods, especially in geothermal exploration. text |
