Summary:The Government of Indonesia through the State Ministry for Women's Empowerment of the Republic of Indonesia implements a number of international conventions and agreements in the context of regional planning and development. Regulation of the State Minister for Women's Empowerment of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2009 concerning Child Friendly City / District Policy is the basis for city and districts to formulate development strategies to achieve a title of child-friendly city / district (KLA). This policy is based on the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Declaration of the World Fit for Children. This underlies the commitment of the Pontianak City Government to create public spaces, especially child-friendly city parks in Pontianak City. The summary of the problems of this research is to answer questions regarding the implementation of child friendly city parks standards, the spatial planning concept of child friendly park as a recreational space to educate children functionally, aesthetically, and ecologically in Pontianak City, the strategic management of children friendly city parks for sustainable development in Pontianak City, and the parents’ and children’s hopes in the future as the visitors of city parks. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis discussion is to recommend an applicable city park landscape management plan with the principles of efficiency and effectiveness and to recommend elements that form the Pontianak city park landscape with a children friendly concept that highlights the local wisdom of Pontianak City. Results Recommendations for landscape management in this research location will guide the management of other urban park landscapes in Pontianak City. The benefit of this research are expected to become a guideline for Pontianak City to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in the management of city parks towards a childfriendly Pontianak City. In addition, a harmonious, ecological, functional, and aesthetic arrangement of city parks will improve the quality of life of the people of Pontianak City physically and mentally. Recommendations on the arrangement and management of city parks from the research results can also be a model for the development of the urban landscape in Pontianak City. This researh will implement several methods and approaches. First, in inventory step to collect non-physic data in the research area and to limit the focus area to investigate more. Study case and theory will be done in this phase. Related government polivy and regulations and precedent will be investigate more and need to compared. Surveiing the location directly is a must to obtain a primary data. Some of methods will be used in this phase such as distributing questionnaires to get the information from users who visit the research area. The last but not least phase is to conduct the concept of design and management of children park. Some tools or application will be used here are AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and the formula of CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) and IPA (Importance Performance Analysis). Chlidren respondents are the children in the catgory 7-12 years old. The results of the research include: (1) Ayani Chess Park can’t be categorized as a children’s playground based on repondent’s assessment of the research indicators at Ayani Chess Park.; (2) the assessment of adult respondents on the existing facilities of Taman Catur Ayani is very satisfactory; (3) unfortunately, the assessment of adult respondents on the level of management services with a child-friendly park approachment is unsatisfactory. According to those results, Taman Catur Ayani needs to improve the implementation of management services; and (4) traditional games as local wisdom should be presented in the concept of child-friendly parks in every region in Indonesia. There is also a management strategy consisting of priority directions for improvement and provision for Ayani Chess Park to the status of TBA. The priorities include the provision of attributes or indicators: a) CCTV, b) area security officers, c) child play supervisors; d) the shape of the pavement and plants is not sharp/pointy; e) There is a usage guide board and information on the age limit of children for the use of playgrounds equipped with do's and don'ts and also smoking bans in the park; f) there are hydrant points and evacuation routes; g) there are traffic signs or motorized vehicle speed reduction markers on roads around the park; h) there is a zebra crossing or a safe zone to cross on the roads around the park; i) signage and interpretation boards are available; j) Wi-Fi; k) lactation room (only for nursing mothers); l) traditional game area; m) clean water faucet; n) drinking water faucet; o) Management room; p) security posts; q) health post (P3K or immediate medical action); and r) Trash box (organic and organic waste are separated).
