Description
Summary:In rainy season, the Region of Gedebage, Bandung, has has a significant increase in the amount of rainwater discharge. The condition is caused by the imbalance between the additional volume of rainwater and the discharged volume. This event causes various problem in Gedebage District and also its surrounding environtments in the physical and non-physical form, such as problems of space requirements, transportation, health, safety, etc. Considering several crowded spots that could potentially hamper the process of reducing rainwater which is also exacerbated by the condition of the river that potentially increase surface runoff, this problem cannot be resolved by itself overtime. Therefore, a sustainable flood control is required in the area, such as the provision of floodmitigations to reduce excessive volume water ponding, such as retention ponds, rain gardens, and bioswales, which are landscape design alternative ideas for any land with surface water potential. Therefore, mitigation land in Gedebage District can also be used as recreational waterfront area in a form of landscape design.
