Description
Summary:Abstract :

BCA s vision To become the special choice bank of society pledge, which plays as important pillar of Indonesia economics, is pushing company to face the business challenge in this time. BCA has become as one of notable private bank in Indonesia, because it s ability to win competition in banking area. BCA domination in banking world is not only determined by excellent product and its exact marketing strategy, but it is also influenced by right cultural existence of the company in winning competition of banking world which is progressively increasing. The culture of the corporation has to be able to support the corporate vision, strategy, business scenario process, organizational structure, and the characteristic from the human resources. One of the formulas that fit to deal with the increasing competition is entrepreneurship based corporate culture in which company is expected to think and act like entrepreneurs in order to anticipate and overcome the challenges.

This research is aimed to answer how big the entrepreneurial spirits in this corporation is and to rate the importance and frequency of managers in applying intrapreneurial activities. The research used EOS and ELQ measurements which are distributed to employees and managerial in some branch office which located in Bandung. EOS is used to measure the organization s overall entrepreneurial orientation and ELQ is used to assess entrepreneurial orientation which based on Thornberry s leadership typology from company managers and top management.

Results from the EOS indicate that almost all key dimensions which are speed, market intelligence, supports for new idea, cross functionality, focus, and future orientation show very good score and need to be maintained. Survey result from dimensions like strategic planning, flexibility, my company, risk aversion, and personal orientation still require to be paid attention to and corrected by the company. In other hand, the ELQ survey shows that the assessment to General Entrepreneurial Leadership (GEL) indicate that the execution frequency and importance be at the same category (M), while for the type of explorer, miner, accelerator, and integrator, there are some gap/difference to every type ( each High to mount the importance and Medium for the frequency of its execution). The disparities are caused by rarity of managers to implement the values in which employees think are important.

In order to maintain its position as notable private sector banking in Indonesia, BCA needs to improve the execution of intrapreneurship culture inside the company both for its culture condition and also entrepreneurial leadership in that company.
