Description
Summary:The Aerothlete Human Powered Aircraft (HPA) project is an initiative to build Indonesia's first human-powered aircraft. However, currently, human-powered aircraft are considered too complex to be made, so further studies are needed, especially in the wing section. In this study, a comparative study was conducted of six equivalent wing planforms, ranging from rectangular to nearly elliptical planforms. The purpose of this study is to examine the comparison of aerodynamic performance, wing weight as a consequence of different structural details and production costs. It was found that the straight and tapered two-segment planform is the planform form that provides the best compromise.
