The level of productivity in Indonesia’s workforce is below the average of ASEAN. This kind of situation happens because employers place a lot of demands on their employees and it decreases their happiness. Happiness of employees is still not getting enough attention in the workplace. Meanwhile, happiness is quite crucial to improve employees’ productivity and performance. The objective of this research is to identify the significant effect of happiness at work towards performance among employees and identify the level of happiness at work of employees in Indonesia. To measure the happiness at work, this research uses the HAW model that has been developed by Salas-Vallina & Alegre (2018) that used engagement, job satisfaction, and affective organizational commitment as the indicators. Meanwhile, an employee's performance is measured using quantity, quality, effectiveness, punctuality, independence, and work commitment as its indicators. This study uses quantitative methods to analyze and identify the results of the data that has been collected through questionnaires. The research surveyed 300 respondents via an online questionnaire. Based on the analysis, the result of this research shows that the level of Indonesian employees’ happiness at work is at a moderate level and there is a significant effect between happiness at work and the performance of employees in Indonesia. This research is expected to help organizations in Indonesia to pay more attention to employee’s happiness as a tool to improve individual and organization performance. text
