Description
Summary:Several method for measuring minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) from antifungal were developed due to its easyness or cost consideration, some are usually adopted for clinical use. The purpose of this research was to develop a method that uses enzymatic colorimetry for determining antifungal MIC based on Trinder method using glucose oxidase kit (GOD) with sampel to reagent ratio of 1:5. Visible spectrophotometry at 550nm had been carried out to detect quinoneimin resulting from residual glucose oxidation in a liquid growth medium, Saboraud Dextrose Broth (SDB). After incubation period of 48 hours the antifungal MIC obtained from the experiment were within such stated in literature, while for 24 hours period of incubation, the MIC of amphotericin B was similar to literature MIC value.
