The most potent antiarthritic effect was shown by ethanol extract of Phaleria macrocarpa at a dose of 30 mg/kg bw. The ethanol extract of Phaleria macrocarpa fruits at a dose of 30 mg/kg bw significantly lowered serum TNF level compared to control group after 12 days of treatment. Thus, it can be concluded that one of the mechanisms by which ethanol extract of Phaleria macrocarpa act as antiartritis is due to the inhibition of TNF production. text
