INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/62462 The Electrical and Control Project (E&C) section is an unit of the Plant Engineering and Project Services (PEPS) department which is responsible for managing electrical and instrument projects within the Coal Processing and Handling Division (CPHD). The PEPS department itself acts as the Project Management Office (PMO) of the CPHD division. Project work will always have constraints since the ideal conditions are impossible to obtain (unlimited resources, etc.). This must be experienced by many organizations, and one of them is the E&C section. In recent years, the section has always experienced delays in project completion. The average timeliness of project completion in the last 5 years is only 13.48%. Therefore, this research aims to generate recommendations that are expected to improve the timeliness of project completion. A Current Reality Tree (CRT) is used to find the underlying cause of the problem. Through this process, the main cause of the problem was found due to the department not fully carrying out its function as a PMO. It was also found that some of its derivative causes include lack of project management competence, a current policy that did not clearly regulate the work, a section that was over capacity, and unequal technical competence. Then alternative solutions are generated based on the obtained causes. These alternatives are then selected based on criteria that are considered by management in making decisions. The selection process is processed using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) based on management preferences. text
