It can cause impacts to road user such as air pollution, noise, higher vehicle operating cost, and longer travel time. This research will evaluate traffic characteristic, delay and queueing during the closing and opening of the gate. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The location of this study was on Purwosari railroad crossing at Slamet Riyadi Street in Surakarta City direction west to east. The type of the railroad crossing is 4/22 D with lane width 4 x 3,5 m. The railway is a double track which is equipped with safety gate. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Traffic data were collected on peak hours 06.00 a.m-08.00 a.m, 12.00 p.m-14.00 p.m, and 16.00 p.m-18.00 p.m. The data were collected by using 2 video cameras in two location, on location 1 and location 2. In location 3 data were collected with manual.
