This research will evaluate traffic characteristic, delay and queueing during the closing and opening of the gate. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The location of this study was on Purwosari railroad crossing at Slamet Riyadi Street in Surakarta City direction west to east. The type of the railroad crossing is 4/22 D with lane width 4 x 3,5 m. The railway is a double track which is equipped with safety gate. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Traffic data were collected on peak hours 06.00 a.m-08.00 a.m, 12.00 p.m-14.00 p.m, and 16.00 p.m-18.00 p.m. The data were collected by using 2 video cameras in two location, on location 1 and location 2.
