Summary: | PT. Maintenance Indonesia (PT. MI) is one of Indonesia’s MRO companies that focuses on repairing and supplying commercial aircraft operators, military, police, and governments’ aircrafts. The services that the company offers include inspection, repair, and overhaul of propeller, cylinder equipment, radio, instrument, battery, and accessories. The company is committed to be able to minimize the time of the aircraft on ground (AOG) and make sure that the promised turnaround time (TAT) with customer can be achieved in order to guarantee highest level of customer satisfaction at the best costs.
Currently, the company often times faced delay in the propeller maintenance project and cannot be able to meet the promised TAT with the customer. The focus of this research is to analyze the root cause of the project delay and provide recommended solution to solve the problem and improve the situation. The research employs qualitative research to gather information and opinion from the perspective of various company stakeholders through interview. Root cause analysis is defined by mapping the information obtained from the interview that is extracted into several keyword. Besides the interview result, literature review from various resources such as books and journals is used to support the author on finding the conclusion of the issue and recommendation.
Based on the analysis, there are four major challenges that cause the project delay, which are lack of coordination, spare part not ready stock, long shipment process, and lack of monitoring. The proposed solutions to solve the issue are setting frequent meeting program with related stakeholders, developing monitoring system, and implementing exchange program. |
