The production of secondary metabolites of plant is usually low in yield. Biotechnological approaches have been proved to enhace the production of such plant secondary metabolites. To enhance secondary metabolites, the genetically transformed plants which were induced by Agrobacterium rhizogenes have been used. Genetic transformation using Agrobacterium rhizogenes is one of the techniques that could be used for this purpose. Using plant culture method to do genetic transformation which transfer DNA of Agrobacterium rhizogenes into plant cell. This research also aimed to establish the laboratorium of plant cell cultures in the research group of Biology Pharmacy by using Nicotiana tabacum. Genetically transformed root of Artemisia annua obtained the form of the root and artemisinin content which were different to the unstransformed root. The laboratorium of plant cell culture-KK Biologi Farmasi has been started to be established for the production secondary metabolite of plants. The production of artemisinin from genetically transformed plant is higher than the original plant. <br />
