Summary: | The city of Surakarta or better known as Solo, in the era of Mayor Jokowi's
leadership has created many innovations to increase city’s prestige and beautify
the face of the city. Various policies for the development of urban areas in various
sectors continue to be accelerated. One of the most visible policies is the re-location
of Pedagang Kaki Lima (PKL). Jokowi introduced a new approach method, a more
humanist approach, so that the government can focus on solving problems that are
win-win solutions for both. It just takes patience, sincerity, and consistency from
the government in dealing with this kind of merchant. Examples of tangible results
from the relocation of street vendors are the creation of new culinary centers such
as Gladag Langen Bogan and Pucang Sawit. The ultimate goal of handling the
relocation of street vendors to a culinary center is to create the culinary specialties
of Solo based on recreation / night tours and entertainment for families in a
comfortable and relaxed manner. As well as a neat, orderly, organized area and in
the end to support the goals from the City of Surakarta as a radiant city (clean,
healthy, neat, and beautiful). With the program running for more than 10 years, it
is hoped that already had an impact to the city as one of the city's facilities.
Therefore, this research will identify the sustainability and resistance of the Gladag
Langen Bogan and Pucang Sawit culinary center programs as superior city
facilities fostered by the Surakarta City Government. This research uses descriptive
analysis method. The data used in the study were obtained from interviews,
observations, and literature studies. The results of this study prove that the Gladag
Langen Bogan program is able to withstand the challenges of running the program,
but the Pucang Sawit culinary center does not survive. |
