Summary: | The existence of non-profit organizations is important as an element in society. Most of student
organizations are non-profit organization that aim to help students adapt to the campus life. One
of the largest student organizations in Bandung Institute of Technology is Kabinet Keluarga
Mahasiswa ITB (student organization in Bandung Institute of Technology), which changes periods
every year. Based on the evaluation of the condition of the Kabinet Keluarga Mahasiswa ITB in
2021/2022, there are many opportunities to improve the quality of this members’ performance.
Thus, this study aims to determine the effect of MARS model consists of motivation, ability, role
perception and situational factors on members’ performance since its model of individual behavior
is very close related to the performance of individuals within an organization and it can improve
work performance. The research was conducted on Kabinet Keluarga Mahasiswa ITB (student
organization in Bandung Institute of Technology) especially on the period of Kabinet Akar Asa
(2021/2022) with a sample of 100 people. Methods of Multiple Linear Regression is used with
the aim of predicting the significant effect of MARS Model to members’ performance. This
research uses McClelland’s Motivation Theory to explain the motivation variable. The result
shows only Need for Achievement as one of motivation factors and Role Perception have a
significant effect on members’ performance in student organization. Meaning that Kabinet
Keluarga Mahasiswa ITB should make a new culture that can decrease the competitive culture inside organization. Leader and Talent Management Ministry should coordinate more to make
some adjustment on the human resources programs.
