The establishment of a subsidiary must be accompanied by a parenting strategy in every aspect. Moreover, most of the big companies currently focused on developing their human resources management system. They see human resources as one of the main assets of the company. Hutama Karya’s strategic plan is to encourage sustainable business growth by developing a Change Transformation Program, which includes changes to the Company’s Vision and Mission. Furthermore, to achieve the new Vision, Hutama Karya try to elaborate on business strategy, corporate structure, and human resources architecture. This new Vision forces Hutama Karya to create more detailed regulations between Hutama Karya and its subsidiaries in every aspect, such as finance, information technology, human resources, etc. The objective of this research is to determine the appropriate type of parenting strategy in the human resources function to be applied in Hutama Karya Group. This research is developed as case-based qualitative. The conceptual framework of this research starts from defining the business issue and the objective, then continue with the diagnosis stage through data collection that consists of literature review and research analysis using SWOT Matrix (also known as TOWS Matrix) to formulate a proposed solution based on the analysis finding. The proposed solution will be followed by a validation phase by subject-matter expert FGD that is in accordance with the current situation of the company to support the suitability of the proposed solution, which will be a strategy for the company to improve parenting strategy in human resources function. The result of SWOT Matrix put Hutama Karya on first quadrant and it is identified as aggressive strategy with authoritative style parenting strategy between head office and subsidiaries followed by McKinsey 7S Framework, as it is needed to describe Hutama Karya parenting strategy in human resources function text |
