INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/67309 The increasing population of Indonesia every year, coupled with higher levels of rural-urban urbanization leading to an increase in food demand. Indonesia is known as an agrarian country and is ranked 65 out of 113 based on the world food security index. The agricultural sector become potential to be developed and absorbs national labor. However, the aging phenomenon of farmers is unavoidable along with the declining interest of the youth in the agriculture sector. The industrialization of agricultural land into industrial areas has resulted in a shift in profession from farmers to factory workers. This increases the risk of losing the farmer profession in the future due to the absence of farmer regeneration. Majalengka regency which known as an agricultural area has begun to turn into an industrial area and need farmer regeneration. As the millennial farmer program planned by the West Java Provincial Government, facilities are needed that can help empower young farmers to be interested in returning to work in the agricultural sector while improving their skills as a farmer. This project is expected to be a tourism-based educational facility for the youth that can attract millennial labor back to the agriculture sector through changing the stigma and negative perception of the agricultural sector with architectural media, creating an educational and recreational physical environment, and creating a collaborative and interactive environment. All these objectives are achieved through the design of an agroedutourism center with the concept of adjoining agriculture that accommodates three functions, education, recreation, dan commercial. text
