Description
Summary:Abstract :

Laundry wastewater contain detergent Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) is a potential pollutant and causes many environmental problems. It was shown by plant growth of Ipomoea aquatica plant which poured with various concentrations of detergent in the beginning of research. Level of growth resistance along with progressive level of detergent concentration. One of the alternatives in technical wastewater treatment which is easy, cheap, and efficient, is by using constructed wetland. Basic concept of constructed wetland is using microorganisms activity, wetland vegetation, and substrats in the area. The objective of this research is to know capability of actived charcoal and Sagittaria montevidensis in removing BOD, COD, total fosfate, and MBAS concentration of detergent wastewater in the system. This research use modification of Vertical Flow System (VFS) and Horizontal Subsurface Flow (SSF), and Sagittaria montevidensis. The dimension of system made in laboratory scale with detention time in 15 days. Result from this research indicate that constructed wetland which contains actived charcoal and Sagittaria montevidensis was effective to treat detergent wastewater, that can remove 95,03+/-2,62 % BOD, 93.73+/-0,38% COD, 99,41+/-0,28% total fosfate, and 93.62+/-1,81% MBAS in the end of research.
