Summary: | PT MBSS is a transportation logistic company that has implemented talent
management. One of the talent management activities that are being carried out by
PT MBSS is talent mapping with 9-box matrix and talent development. Talent
mapping is carried out by referring to the 9-box matrix. However, this talent
mapping is only used for visualization and is not used as a reference for talent
development. This is because PT MBSS does not yet have a talent development
recommendation dictionary that contains recommendations for employee’s talent
development based on the results of the 9-box matrix. For this reason, this research
objective is to design a talent development recommendation dictionary that refers
to the 9 box matrix.
The research was conducted with a qualitative approach through semi-structured
interviews while data processing was carried out by thematic analysis. The design
of the talent development recommendation dictionary refers to the talent
management improvement methodology (Ingram, 2016). This methodology
explains the steps in improving talent management which started by identifying the
talent management strategy that has been implemented by the company and
obtaining information to develop alternative solutions.
This research resulted in a talent development recommendation dictionary
containing talent development actions for each of the of 9 box matrix category. In
addition, the research also produces information system designs proposals to
support the implementation of the dictionary designs in MBSS’s talent development
activities. Thus, it is hoped that through the design of a talent development
recommendation dictionary, PT MBSS is able to develop employees more optimally
and assist the work of the Human Capital division.
