Summary: | PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) is a company engaged in the aircraft manufacturing industry. The production planning and execution process from PT DI is regulated by a production division called Detail Part Manufacturing (DPM). The realization of scheduling on the production floor of the DPM division tends to be low and the SAP system used cannot collect canceled order scheduling information, thus hampering the coordination and monitoring process. Therefore, the production floor in the DPM division requires a system that can smooth the flow of information during production activities and requires the proposed new scheduling method to improve the current method.
The completion of this research was carried out by designing a real-time production execution monitoring system and selecting a new scheduling method. The scope of the monitoring system design is only carried out until the prototype form, so that the design steps are, identification of needs, design of monitoring system design, and testing. Meanwhile, the selection of the scheduling method is done by combining the new method with the priority criteria that have been used so far.
The result of this design is a monitoring system that can be accessed on the Google Sheet web. The design of this monitoring system accommodates the flow of feedback information in real time, both vertically and horizontally between parties responsible for production execution. Meanwhile, the proposed scheduling method is the WSPT (Weighted Shortest Processing Time) method whose weights use the priority criteria for delivery date, sequence assembly, and return status of orders. The implementation of this solution is expected to improve the coordination, monitoring, and scheduling processes in the DPM division so as to produce performance efficiency in the production system.
