Summary: | The use of refrigeration machines is currently needed by humans due to the increasing effects of global warming. This cooling machine is used in commercial buildings in Indonesia. The air conditioning system used in these commercial buildings certainly requires a lot of energy so that energy savings are needed.
This research was conducted to obtain information about the cooling performance of three air conditioning systems, namely the variable refrigerant flow system, air cooled chiller without VSD, and air cooled chiller with VSD. This research was conducted as an effort to save energy in commercial buildings. The selection of units and components in each system is carried out through the refrigeration unit catalog based on the cooling load requirements of the building.
The analysis carried out to find cooling performance uses the same cooling load data, namely in hotel buildings and fluctuates in one year referring to the 2022 calendar. The variable refrigerant flow air system with the lowest electrical energy consumption of 1,301 MW has the best cooling performance with a value of 1.301 MW. 3.82. Furthermore, the VSD air cooled chiller system with electricity consumption of 2,270 MW has a cooling performance of 2.18. The air cooled chiller system without VSD with electricity consumption of 2,512 MW has a cooling performance of 1.97.
