The development of sensor technology in this modern era is already very rapid with
various inventions and developments carried out by experts. Electrochemical
biosensors are one of the most widely researched and developed types of sensors
because they offer the advantages of low detection limits, good sensitivity and
specificity, simple structure, and easy operation. Electrochemical biosensors work
on the principle of three electrodes, the initial form of which is very large and
impractical. Screen-Printed Carbon Electrode (SPCE) is here to solve this problem
and has been widely produced by commercial and industrial, but for a more
economical prospect many parties make their own SPCE.
In this study, manufacture of SPCE using three different types of substrates is done:
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), and Printed Circuit
Board (PCB) from the design, fabrication to evaluation stages. The design and
fabrication stage is the stage carried out in the physical manufacture of SPCE:
Design using spce layer graphics software and printing (base, work electrode,
auxiliary electrode, reference electrode). The evaluation stage is the SPCE testing
stage of fabricated results in the form of SPCE resistance testing, reference
electrode testing, electrochemical measurements using the Cyclic Voltammetry
(CV) and Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV) methods, as well as testing sensor
performance by looking at scan rate variations and cycle addition stability. This
evaluation stage is also a stage to optimize failures that occur by allowing SPCE
to perform better.
Comparison of substrates used to see the best substrates that can be developed as
SPCE substrates as bioelectrochemists were carried out in this study, SPCE as
bioelectrokimia sensors have also been sought linear range values and sensitivities
so that further development can be carried out |
