STUDY OF DRUG INTERACTIONS IN PATIENTS WITH POSITIVE SARS-COV-2 IN A HOSPITAL IN SUMEDANG

The treatment of SARS-CoV-2 continues to develop by involving various types of off-label drugs and various symptomatic or supportive therapeutic drugs. The use of these various types of drugs puts patients at risk for drug interactions. This study aims to analyze the potential interactions between drugs that can occur in hospitalized SARS-CoV-2 patients and the factors that influence it. The study was conducted with a cross-sectional design using a sample of hospitalized patients at a Hospital in Sumedang. Analysis of potential interactions between drugs was carried out using Micromedex®. The results of the study were 344 study samples and 312 had the potential for drug interactions, the majority of which were of moderate severity (73%), with the most potential interactions greater than 5 (42.64%), and the mechanism of pharmacodynamic interactions. The potential interactions found were QT interval prolongation and decreased effectiveness. There is a positive correlation between potential drug interactions with the number of drugs per patient's drug card (r = 0.564), and length of hospitalization (r = 0.222).
