Summary:The director of PT Mega Daya Industri noticed that the company’s performance is not optimum. Through root cause identification using a fishbone diagram, it is discovered that there are 6 root causes that are the focus of this research: there is no SOP for inventory recording, manual document making, documents are stored in one computer, billing is sent manually for each customer, there are no reminder for outstanding bills, and human error. To solve those problems, business process improvement (BPI) is needed. Business process improvement (BPI) for PT Mega Daya Industri consists of five steps, that are understand business needs, understand the process, model and analyze process, redesign process, and implement new process. Understand business needs is done by identifying the organization’s vision and structure. Understand the process is done by current business process mapping using a crossfunctional diagram. Model and analyze process is done by business process mapping verification and identification of potential process business improvement using the improvement technique wheel. Redesign process is done by proposed business process mapping and designing solution. Implement new process is done by implementation planning. There are 20 business processes that need to be improved. Those business processes are either a non-value added process, a duplicated or redundant process, need simplification, or need an automation. To improve those business processes, the company is suggested to use automation tools, eliminate some business processes, and reduce the transfer of business process responsibilities. To support those improvements, the company is suggested to use an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from Odoo using 5 modules: inventory, contacts, sales, invoicing, and purchase module.
