The dam will be used as temporary reservoir so the water from the upstream of Ciliwung River will be stored until the specified water level. After several days they will be released through the downstream. The design of this dam is using embankment dam with inclined core, so it is possible for water to seep through the dam. Therefore, this dam has several potential failures such as slope instability, piping, and uplift. To evaluate those failure potentials, coupled analysis should be done using SEEP/W and SLOPE/W that provided in GeoStudio 2012. The application of dynamic conditions is carried out using the pseudostatic method. In earthquake conditions with a high return period, the dam is allowed to undergo post-earthquake deformation that should be evaluated according to requirements. text |
