Summary:Water pollution is one of the major factors causing water crisis. Nowadays, water crisis has become a global issue for all society in the world. Among various available treatment processes for water crisis, zeolite membranes for separation processes is considered to be a cost effective method. In this research, silicalite-1 zeolite was succesfully synthesized. Silicalite-1 composite membrane was prepared by coating silicalite-1 layer on bentonite membrane support material. Silicalite-1 composite membrane was used for separation of Cu2+ ions as model for wastewaters treatment by this system. The results showed that silicalite-1 – bentonite composite membrane can be used for separation of Cu2+ ions although its performance was not adequate yet.
